I mean, it's clear she was last seen between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. that day, but what happened in those crucial few hours leading up to when she was supposed to be home for dinner? It's chilling to think how close she was to safety, only 300 yards from her home. Did she run into someone she knew and trusted? The fact that she was found with a towel in her mouth suggests some sort of panic or desperation. My heart goes out to Claire's family and friends, who have had to live all these years with unanswered questions and an unimaginable loss. This case grips me because it's yet another reminder of how quickly life can change. I just hope that one day, some piece of evidence turns up that brings them even a sliver of peace.
