I’ve been down a rabbit hole looking into Howard Vaughn Gratteau's case, and one thing I've been thinking about is the area around the Honey Lakes subdivision where he was supposed to go for the repair job. Does anyone know if there were particular hazards or secluded spots back in 1986 that might have been troublesome if someone experienced a medical emergency like insulin shock? Locales might change over the years, but I wonder if there were any historical factors that could have made it more difficult to spot his truck during the searches, especially from the air. Would love to hear any insights from folks familiar with the region or its history!
