It's been over 36 years since David Ernest Burnside disappeared, and something that has always intrigued me is the involvement of the Navajo Nation authorities. Does anyone know if there were any specific leads that directed their participation, or was it routine to involve them because of his Native American heritage? I've tried to find more detailed reports or statements, but there's not much available. It seems like a lot of potential jurisdictional collaboration could have been missed back then, especially if he had no direct ties to Utah. Just makes me wonder what factors were considered during those early investigation days. If anyone has any insights or can point me to more resources, I'd love to hear.
