Does anyone else find it incredibly overwhelming to process how quickly a peaceful afternoon can turn into a nightmare? I can't stop thinking about Karla Abarca's daughter, who was right there when everything happened. It's unimaginable to witness something so horrific at such a young age. Her mom was just going about her day, probably smiling and enjoying that time together, and then everything changed in a split second. It's stories like these that really remind me how crucial it is for communities to come together and work on preventing gun violence. While the authorities are piecing together the events leading up to this tragedy, my heart goes out to Karla's family. It also raises so many questions about what sets off such dangerous confrontations and leads people to use guns impulsively. I hope her family gets the support they need, and justice is served.
