Hey everyone,
The more I read about Dorothy King's case, the more it gets to me how fragile our sense of safety truly is. It’s just haunting how easily her death was initially dismissed as an accident, only for the truth to emerge later. I was thinking about the role of the saloons and bars during that time and how they unknowingly became hunting grounds for predators like Cole. It makes you wonder how many other lives might have intersected with danger in these places without knowing it.
Dorothy was just 52, and it feels like such a theft of life—not just by the horrific act itself, but because her dignity seemed robbed by the initial misclassification of her death. My heart truly goes out to her loved ones who must have been left with more questions than answers back then. I hope they eventually found some comfort and peace when the truth came to light, even though it can't undo the past.
It's so important that these cases remind us to look beyond the surface. Every life matters, and we should demand thorough investigations so no more stories end like Dorothy's.
Stay safe and keep your eyes open out there.
