I'm still trying to wrap my head around the heartache that the Nelimark family and the surviving son, Anze, must be going through. As a parent, I can't imagine the pain of a young person losing their entire family in such a senseless act. Asher sounds like he was a remarkable kid who touched many lives with his humor and big spirit. It’s truly bewildering to think about someone so young, full of potential, having that taken away. I keep thinking about the impact on Anze as well, losing not just his brother but both parents too. It's comforting to hear that the community has rallied around him, offering the support and strength he'll need to navigate through this trauma. The candlelight vigil outside the ice rink sounds like a beautiful tribute, and a fitting way to remember a family that was so involved in the hockey community. It's times like these where the strength of community really shows and I hope it offers some solace to Anze in the long days ahead.
