Hey all, I’ve been thinking about the ripple effects on communities after such tragic events like the shooting in Amarillo. What really stood out to me was how quickly first responders had to act when they arrived on the scene that day. Imagine the pressure these officers were under, not knowing the full extent of what they were walking into when they found Johnson outside the home on Northwest 14th Avenue. It’s chilling to think about the bravery required in such moments. They faced a heavily armed individual, who was clearly on a rampage, and had to make immediate, life-or-death decisions. It’s easy to criticize from the sidelines, but we have to remember that the officers had families to go home to, just like Danny Shead did. I'm hoping the community can come together to support all those affected, including first responders, who I imagine are dealing with a lot. It's a tough road ahead for Amarillo, no doubt, but shining a light on these stories, especially the unsung heroes, feels like a step towards healing. Sending strength and thoughts to Danny's family and all involved.
