It's truly upsetting to think about the local community in Morganton dealing with such a tragic loss. I read that friends and coworkers from the Morganton Hemp Store remembered Carla talking about her inheritance for quite some time. It just seems surreal that something like this could become a motive for such a horrendous crime. I've noticed discussions about inheritance leading to crime are not uncommon, unfortunately, but it doesn't make any more sense. Carla and Raheim were all about supporting others and now, because of their kindness, it seems they were taken advantage of in the worst possible way. It's alarming how the people they probably trusted, like Lewis and Propst, could be implicated in something so hideous. My heart is with Carla's coworkers and all those trying to make sense of why greed sometimes pushes people to unimaginable actions.
