Has anyone else been following the developments around Jason Ernesto Martinez Hernandez's case? I was really struck when I heard about the arrest of Edward Maurice Barcus. At just 18, he's caught up in something tragic. It's so overwhelming to think about what his and Jason's families are going through right now. It's still hard to digest how two young lives have been shattered, and it makes you wonder about all the underlying causes that led to this moment. I hope that as the investigation progresses, it sheds more light on the circumstances and brings some sort of clarity or justice for Jason's family. The waiting must be so painful for everyone involved. Sending love to Jason’s family and friends, as well as to the entire Newport News community. I've heard the funeral and visitation plans are moving forward, and that Saint Bede Catholic Church community is rallying around them. I can’t even begin to imagine how it feels to lose someone so young.
