Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Carlos Parada? It's been over a decade since he was killed, and it’s really frustrating that there’s been so little resolution. It really highlights the larger issue of youth violence in Durham. I've read that gang involvement is a suspected factor, but it makes me wonder about the kind of support services existed for teens like Carlos back then. Were there enough outreach programs to provide guidance and alternatives to gangs? If anyone has insights on community efforts during that time or any changes since, I'd love to hear more. My heart goes out to Carlos's family and friends. I can't imagine what they have been through all these years without answers. It's essential that we remember his story and push for changes to prevent such tragedies in the future. ?
