Hey all, I was reading through the details of the Seven Shirley tragedy, and something that stuck out to me was the issue of how he managed to get that gun in the first place. It's truly beyond words to think a 14-year-old could just purchase a firearm off the street. I can't imagine the fear and pressure he must have felt, thinking that was some form of protection after what happened to his friend. This situation really highlights the alarming ease with which minors can get their hands on weapons. It seems like Seven felt he had no other choice, especially after everything his family and friends had been through recently. The heartbreaking chain of events leading to his and his sister's ordeal also underscores a much broader, systemic problem. The community really needs to come together to address these illegal gun sales. Our kids deserve better and need to feel safe without feeling like they need to arm themselves. My thoughts are with Lyric and the entire Shirley family as they navigate through such a deeply painful time. Does anyone know if there have been any updates on the investigation into who sold him the gun? It seems crucial that there's accountability here to prevent another tragedy like this.
