I came across news of Drequan Gross's shooting in Pigtown, and it truly struck a chord with me. It's incredibly distressing to think about how his family must be dealing with the sudden and violent loss of their loved one. I live not too far from where this tragedy happened, and it definitely hit close to home. I can't stop thinking about the 500 block of Callender Street and how it must feel so different now for the neighborhood residents. It’s disheartening to see how gun violence continues to impact our communities, and I hope that more attention is paid to finding long-term solutions to help prevent these senseless acts. Does anyone know if there have been any community vigils or gatherings to honor Drequan's memory? Sometimes these events provide a bit of comfort and strength to the families and friends affected, as well as to the community grappling with these tragedies.
