I’ve been following the Madison case, and while much of the attention is naturally on the tragic final act, I'm struck by the role of the legal system in the lead-up to these events. It’s clear that Justin was struggling, but the decision to release him on bail, especially considering the nature of his charges, is weighing heavily on my mind. I realize this must be a tough spot for the authorities, balancing between treating individuals fairly and protecting the public, but I can't help but wonder if more could have been done. Could there have been another way to ensure the safety of Donna, Steve, and the community? It’s a haunting question that sadly we can’t change for them now. My deepest sympathies to the Walker-Sislo family and everyone impacted by this heart-rending situation. Wishing strength and peace to those left behind to pick up the pieces and cope with such unimaginable sorrow.
