I haven't seen many people touch on this yet, but something that really stands out to me is the role of the security guards at the Hidden Gem that night. Why were there security guards armed with firearms in a restaurant of all places? It makes me wonder what kind of environment the restaurant typically had during its after-hours operation. If the security team felt the need to carry guns, does it suggest that incidents like this were anticipated? It’s devastating to think that having armed security didn't prevent this tragedy, and I can only imagine the anguish this brings to Christopher Griffith Jr.'s and Johnny Jackson's families, knowing safety measures were in place and yet this still happened. I hope the ongoing investigation sheds some light on the security protocols there and whether they were a common practice. Sometimes, even within systems meant to protect, things can go horribly wrong, and it's those failures we need to understand if we ever hope to prevent similar tragedies.
