I've been reading about the tragic events surrounding Donald Harvey's crimes, and I can't help but think about the trust patients like Henry Cody must have placed in their caregivers. It's incredibly unsettling to know that someone who was supposed to care for vulnerable individuals could turn their role into something so sinister. Cody, at 78, was likely in a fragile state, relying heavily on those around him. It's horrifying to think a tool meant for his nourishment became the end of him. This case really makes you wonder about the earlier warnings or signs that might have been missed by those around Harvey. Were there really no suspicions until it was too late, or was it just too easy to dismiss concerns because the victims were already so ill? My heart goes out to Cody's family and all those affected by this unfathomable betrayal of trust. How do families and other medical staff begin to heal from learning that such evils were lurking right under their noses?
