I've been thinking a lot about the role that Dennis Roy Yancy played in Marie Parker's tragic story, especially since he was the one who ultimately led authorities on a wild goose chase looking for her remains. It's disturbing to think that he might hold the key to where she truly is but chose to withhold it either out of fear or manipulation by Ray. The psychological grip people like David Parker Ray had over others is terrifying. It's really difficult for a community, and especially her family, to move forward without the closure of finding her. It's a haunting reminder of how control can extend beyond the confines of physical chains and cuffs. My heart goes out to Marie's family, who continue to live with unanswered questions. How do you find peace in such a situation?
