I'm really troubled by the mental health aspects of this case. It's such a small community, and I can't help but wonder if there were warning signs about Bristen Banales' mental state that went unnoticed or ignored. This isn't to deflect blame but to emphasize that, often, mental health issues can spiral out of control, leading to tragic outcomes like this. It's a reminder of how important it is for communities to have resources and support systems for mental health, especially in isolated areas like Twentynine Palms. My heart goes out to everyone involved—Robert Murphy’s family and friends, the first shooting victim, and even the Banales family. Nobody is untouched by these events.
