I've been following the case of Shandolan Carey, and my heart goes out to her family and friends who are dealing with this unbearable loss. Something that's been on my mind is how the legal process is supposed to unfold in cases like this. With Marquell Green's arrest, I'm curious about how long it typically takes for these cases to move through the court system. Given the charges against him and the serious nature of the crime, will there be a lengthy trial and what are the chances of it being expedited due to the overwhelming evidence or circumstances?
I've read that sometimes pre-trial procedures can drag on, delaying justice for the victim's family. I'm hoping for their sake that this doesn't become a prolonged process. I can't even imagine the emotional toll of having to wait for some form of closure. If anyone has insights into how these proceedings typically go or what the expectations might be for the timeline, especially in Louisiana, it would be greatly appreciated.
