I’ve been thinking a lot about what’s been happening with the tragic loss over on Lincoln Avenue. I can’t even begin to imagine what these families are going through, losing Jonah and Damarion so suddenly. It’s made me reflect on just how impactful they were to those around them. I recently spoke to someone who knew them from school, and they mentioned how Jonah would light up any room he walked into. His love for football was infectious, and he always seemed to have a new fashion trend he was excited about. Damarion, on the other hand, was the kind of guy who would help you out even before you knew you needed it. The bond between them was truly special, like brothers more than friends. Hearing about the vigil the community held just warms my heart. It shows how much these two meant to everyone around them. It’s such a stark reminder of the changes we need to make to keep our kids safe, but it also shows a beautiful side of humanity—how we come together to support each other in our darkest times. My heart goes out to the families left behind, and I hope they feel the love and support from everyone who cared about Jonah and Damarion.
