I’ve been following the case of Edward Russell from Corn Mountain Road, and I keep coming back to the community response and the impact this tragedy has had on Hendersonville. From all accounts, Edward seemed to be a pillar in his community—a funny, compassionate person who could brighten anyone's day. It's so difficult to understand how violence could touch someone like him. I've seen several residents express their shock and sadness online, describing how Edward always lent a hand or shared a laugh. It must be incredibly hard for his loved ones and neighbors to reconcile the image of the kind man they knew with the senseless violence he suffered. Community gatherings and vigils seem to be offering some solace, reminding us how important neighborly bonds are in times of tragedy. It’s heartening to see the community come together to honor Edward’s memory and support each other through this difficult time. My thoughts are with Edward’s family and friends—may they find strength and peace as they await justice.
