I can't stop thinking about the impact of this tragedy on Dejuan Mitchell's family, especially his grandmother, who must be devastated. It's one thing to lose a loved one, but to have it happen so close to home brings a whole new level of trauma. I can't imagine the pain and fear they must be experiencing right now. I feel like this aspect often gets overshadowed, but there’s so much more to these cases than just the investigation—like how the family and community are left to cope in the aftermath. It just breaks my heart to think about how someone has to walk past that spot every day, knowing what happened. Has anyone heard if the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has offered any kind of support services for the neighborhood or family? It might help them start to heal a little. I truly hope justice is served for Dejuan and his loved ones can find some peace. Stay safe, everyone.
