I’ve been following Kevin Navarro's case, and what strikes me most is how it happened near an elementary school in broad daylight. As a parent myself, thinking about how many children and families were likely around at the time sends a chill down my spine. It’s a safe area where kids usually walk to and from school, and to have such violence disrupt that sense of security is truly troubling. I can’t imagine the impact on those who might have witnessed the aftermath or even just heard that gunshot. It’s hard enough to explain something like this to an adult, let alone a child. I hope the community gets the support it needs to heal and that schools offer resources to help kids process such a scary event. My heart goes out to Kevin's family and friends who are undoubtedly enduring an unimaginable loss. Such a tragedy should never occur, especially involving such young lives. I hope the investigation fully uncovers what led to this senseless act, providing some form of closure for everyone affected.
