I've been following this tragic case of Antonio Monroe, and one detail that's been on my mind is the location of the shooting. It just seems so surreal to think that this happened in the backyard of what was supposed to be a joyous graduation celebration. I'm from the area, and West Victor Avenue is usually such a quiet neighborhood. It's really concerning to think that something so violent could erupt in the middle of such a peaceful place. It's painful to think about how his family tried to give him a better chance at life, moving him from Visalia to Lemoore, only for this to happen when he returned. It really makes me wonder what the atmosphere was like at the party. Was there some sort of tension that escalated, or did something happen out of the blue? I seriously hope anyone who saw or heard something will come forward so his family can get the answers they deserve. These senseless acts of violence have to stop, and it starts with the community coming together for justice. My heart goes out to Antonio’s family and friends; they shouldn’t have to navigate this kind of grief.
