I was just reading about the John South case, and something that really stands out to me is the fact that his wood stove was cold and his house unlocked when his family found it. If he'd been planning a chilly night in Mountain City, surely he would've kept the fire going. It makes me wonder why he left so suddenly that night or if someone else had something to do with it. Plus, the missing Subaru Justy is baffling. A car like that doesn’t just vanish without a trace, especially with a cracked taillight that should be noticeable. Anyone come across similar cases where someone and their car disappeared simultaneously? Could there be a link to his health issues that made him a target, or maybe even his time at the bar that night? The lack of leads is so frustrating. If you’ve got any theories, I’d love to hear them!

Has anyone looked into the condition of John's wood stove when he disappeared? It was mentioned that the stove was the only source of heat in his home, and it was found cold when family arrived. Living in Mountain City, especially in December, it would have been pretty chilly. This makes me wonder if John intended to leave his house for an extended period. Who leaves their house unlocked and their only heat source cold in the middle of winter unless they were coming right back? It might suggest he left in a hurry or was taken against his will. Also, did anyone ever confirm whether he mentioned any concerns or troubles to his friends at the bar the night before?
