I've been thinking a lot about how this case highlights the terrifying risks some people face just trying to protect their own. Le'Byron seemed like such a dedicated father, going outside at that early hour, possibly because he felt the responsibility to keep his family safe. I can't imagine the immense courage it must have taken, nor the fear he must have felt in those final moments. This situation could happen to any of us who hear a noise in the night and decide to investigate. It's so unfair that a confrontation over something as common as a car break-in could end with such a tragic loss. My heart truly goes out to Cassandra Massey, enduring the unimaginable pain of losing another son to gun violence. It sounds like Le'Byron had so much to live for, especially with another child on the way. I hope the community continues to support his family, perhaps through the GoFundMe page, as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. They deserve to see justice served, and maybe some changes that prevent this kind of loss from happening again.
