I was scrolling through updates about Isaac "Wavy" Bradley's case, and a thought struck me that I haven't seen discussed much: how deeply he influenced the culinary scene on the South Side. It's not just that he was a great chef or ran successful restaurants; it's the way he used food to bridge communities. I remember attending one of his pop-up events—there was this sense of unity between people who might not have crossed paths otherwise if not for Wavy’s vision. I can’t help but think about how his passing doesn't just leave a gap in the community but also in the dreams and aspirations he'd inspired in others. So many young chefs looked up to him as a mentor and a model for how you can start from nothing and build something truly meaningful. It's infuriating and sad that such a positive figure was taken away in such a senseless act. We should keep his spirit alive by supporting local culinary arts and the South Side community he loved so much. I'm hoping that someone, somewhere, knows something and comes forward. Justice for Isaac, and peace for his family and friends.
