I was reading about Deon's case, and while it's so upsetting to hear what happened, something really stood out to me—the location. It's scary to think that an area which was a regular and safe spot for Deon and Derrick to work was suddenly unsafe. They were just enjoying the simple pleasure of hanging out, using free Wi-Fi for their podcast. It's a situation many of us could find ourselves in, which makes it even more chilling. I also noticed that the robbery attempt started with the suspects asking for a lighter—such an odd and unsettling detail. It makes me wonder, why choose that as a pretext? Could it have been a distraction to lower their guard? My heart goes out to Deon's family and Derrick, who must be dealing with not just grief but also the trauma and shock of what happened. Hoping the community can come together and help the police find those responsible. This should never have happened.
