A small West Texas town is grieving after 4-year-old Emmanuel Greg Manny Del Toro was shot and later died at a San Antonio trauma center. Emmanuel, born October 12, 2021, in Uvalde, was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound on May 3, 2026, after deputies from the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office responded to a La Pryor residence. He was airlifted to University Hospital but did not survive.

Emmanuel was the son of Ashley Ramirez and Greg Del Toro and is survived by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers. The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation and has not released details about how the shooting occurred or named any suspects or arrests. The circumstances that led to the shooting remain unclear, leaving many unanswered questions for the community.

Did anyone in La Pryor or the surrounding area see or hear anything the evening of May 3 that could help investigators piece together what happened?
