Hey everyone, I can't stop thinking about how strong and united this community has been in the wake of Javion's tragic passing. The po'boy benefit at the Martin Luther King Community Center was a testament to the love and support surrounding his family. It's uplifting to see that even in such a heartbreaking time, neighbors, friends, and even strangers came together to comfort each other and raise funds for the family. But something that weighs heavy on my mind is the impact this devastating event is having on Javion's teammates and classmates. I can't imagine the pain and confusion they must be feeling. It’s crucial we keep offering support to these young people, who are processing not just the loss of a friend, but also the harsh reality of violence so close to home. This tragedy should strengthen our resolve to find ways to help our youth feel safe and supported, both on and off the field. If anyone hears about support groups or counseling sessions being set up for the students and team, please share the information here. Every little bit helps. Sending all my love and strength to everyone affected by this tragedy. Let's keep lifting each other up. ❤️ Stay safe, [name]
