It's really difficult to understand how someone could turn on a friend or an acquaintance like that. The case of Shardonay Tyce is deeply unsettling, especially because it seems like this was no random act but rather something personal. I'm heartaching for her family and friends who now have to grapple with the knowledge that she knew her attacker. It's one thing when violence comes from a stranger, but another entirely when it comes from someone you may have trusted. It makes me wonder about the kind of relationship they had and what led to such a tragic outcome. How do we, as a society, address these kinds of personal disputes before they escalate to this extent? I'm really hoping the police make some progress soon and that her family sees justice. Shardonay deserves more than to become another statistic. She was a real person, with people who loved her and a future ahead of her. Keeping her family in my thoughts.
