Hi everyone, I've been following the Whisenant case and something that's been on my mind is the role of firearm safety and education, particularly for young adults. While we don't know all the details yet, if the reports of an accidental discharge are true, it begs the question of how we can better prevent these tragedies. It's so painful to think about a young life lost so unexpectedly and for a family to be torn apart in this way. My heart goes out to those close to Dawson and his father, and I really hope this serves as a wake-up call in the community about safely handling firearms. Whether it's through courses, community outreach, or simply having open conversations, anything that might prevent another incident like this seems crucial. What are your thoughts on this? Has there been any push in NC for more accessible gun safety programs?
