Seeing everyone come together to honor Edgar "Pops" Spence really hits home how much he meant to the Mott Haven community. I've been thinking a lot about the balloon release they held. Such a simple yet poignant gesture—watching those balloons drift up into the sky like a symbol of his spirit rising above the tragedy. I never had the chance to meet him personally, but just hearing how others speak about him makes it clear he was a truly special person. It's so frustrating that we still don't have answers or justice for him and his family. How can someone so loved and respected be taken away like this, and yet the investigation still seems stuck? If you live in the area and know anything, even the smallest detail could make a difference. His family deserves closure, and Pops deserves justice. Let's not let this become just another statistic.
