I've been following the case of Larome A. Johnson's tragic death, and something that's been on my mind is the scheduling of their home closing just an hour after the shooting. It's devastating to think that a moment that should've been a new beginning for the Johnson family turned into a nightmare. As a retired corrections officer and a person who battled cancer and COVID, Larome seemed like he was on a path to a well-deserved fresh chapter. The timing of it all makes the situation even more distressing. My heart truly goes out to his family as they navigate such an unexpected and painful loss. Such needless violence over a dispute is unfathomable, and it re-emphasizes the importance of conflict resolution and support within communities. It's essential for us to look at signs of discord in our neighborhoods before they escalate to this level. I'm really sorry for their loss—it’s poignant reminders like these that communities must stand together in preventing such senseless acts. Let's hope for justice and peace for everyone involved.
