I just can't stop thinking about Carter’s grandmother and what she must be going through right now. Losing your daughter to leukemia and then having to navigate this devastating tragedy would be unbearable for anyone. It seems like Carter was bringing so much joy to her life after so much loss. I’ve been reading about how she described him as a joyful and loving person, which makes me think that their bond must have been incredibly special. She must have been proud of the young man he was becoming—talented in sports and with dreams of being a firefighter. My heart goes out to her as she questions the circumstances surrounding his death, especially with the concern about whether race played a role. These are difficult questions to grapple with when you’re grieving. I truly hope she gets some answers and some peace. My thoughts are with the entire family and the community that is rallying around them. Please keep sharing any new information; this case deserves thorough attention and justice.
