I've been following the tragedies on West Arthington Street, and my heart goes out to all who knew Barbara and Kaleb Deer. There's been a lot of discussion about the events leading up to that fateful day, but I wanted to focus on the devoted life Barbara led. As a speech-language pathologist, she touched countless lives, helping so many find their voices—literally and figuratively. It's inspiring to see how she dedicated herself to the community, especially to mental health and education, which are both such crucial issues. I can only imagine the impact her loss has had on her friends and those she worked with. It's so painful to think that someone who spent her life lifting others up had to face such a tragic end. I hope those in the community can come together to continue her mission in some way, perhaps an initiative in honor of her work. It's so important to keep her spirit alive through the causes she was passionate about. How are others feeling about this possibility?
