I've been trying to wrap my head around this terrible event. I live reasonably close to Zelienople, and the news has everyone shaken up. What really gets to me is the vulnerable position the victims were in, particularly Lanaya. At just 19 years old, she had her whole life ahead of her, and it's incredibly tragic that it ended in such a violent manner. I've also been thinking about how the neighbors mentioned the family seemed friendly; it just goes to show how we can never really know what someone might be going through behind closed doors. My heart goes out to Lanaya and Amy's families. They now have to navigate this unthinkable pain without the chance for justice through a trial. If anyone has thoughts on how communities can come together to heal after something like this, I'd love to hear your insights.
