I've been digging into the Nancy Wilcox case, and one element that really hits hard is the polygraph test her alleged attacker passed just months before she disappeared. It's incredibly frustrating to look back now and see how this tool, which isn't foolproof, played a part in chilling potential leads. If things had been different, could there have been a deeper investigation earlier on? It's haunting to think that Nancy's earlier cries for help might have fallen on deaf ears partly because of this. Sending strength to her family and friends, who must still be troubled by these unanswered questions after all these years.
