I've been thinking a lot about the impact of these unsolved cases on the immediate family and community, and it's deeply troubling. Antonio Thomas was someone's son, possibly a brother or uncle, and certainly a friend to many. His life, just beginning at 29, was stolen in such a senseless way, and it frustrates me how this didn't trigger the ShotSpotter system. We're relying on tech to bridge gaps, but what happens when it fails? I can't even begin to imagine the pain his loved ones must be going through, knowing that the people responsible for this heinous act are still out there. It highlights the necessity of community involvement in solving these cases. If anyone was around the area or heard anything, I urge you to come forward. The family deserves answers, and we ought to do our part, no matter how small, in ensuring justice is served. Antonio deserves that, and so does his family.
