Has anyone else been following the Glen Blackwell III case? It's so difficult to wrap my head around the senselessness of this tragedy. I keep thinking about the community at the apartment complex on Grove Circle— it must be devastating to have experienced such violence right outside their doors. It seems like it's just brought a cloud of fear and sadness over an entire neighborhood. And for the family of Glen Blackwell, how do you even begin to find peace or justice in the aftermath? I noticed that Javeon Wilson, the 17-year-old arrested in connection with the shooting, has a lot going on. A bond set for one charge but none for the capital murder obviously points to the seriousness of the situation. I just keep hoping more people will come forward with information to provide answers. This case reminds me of how important it is for communities to rally together—not only to share leads but to support one another through the trauma. To anyone in Jackson who might be reading, stay safe and lean on each other.
