It's so shocking and senseless. My heart goes out to the families of Kyung Lee and Derek Dashaun Brown. I've been thinking about the role of surveillance footage in this case. It’s really fascinating and a bit chilling to consider how much is captured on these cameras nowadays. I can't even imagine the weight of watching such footage, especially for the investigators and families involved. It seems like it was crucial in identifying Joseph Anthony Amador and Lauren Tayler Machado-Juarez so quickly. Does anyone else here feel that surveillance tech, while incredibly useful, also feels a bit invasive at times? Or maybe it's just a necessary trade-off for safety in today's world? Would love to hear others' thoughts. Sending love and strength to the families during this incredibly difficult time.
