Phillip Washington, 21, was shot and killed in Buffalo, New York, on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 3:15 p.m.; Washington was found in an alleyway on Goembel Avenue about a block from a children’s birthday party. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead.
Buffalo Police released a single suspect description: a Black male about 6 feet 2 inches tall wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Washington had recently been released from prison and was reportedly trying to turn his life around; he was a father with another child expected, and his aunt and mother were cited about the family impact of his death.
No arrests or suspects have been publicly named. Does anyone have information about that afternoon on Goembel Avenue or the person described in the investigation?
