I've been following the tragic case of Marquette Holmes, and I can't stop thinking about the young boy who was also injured during the shooting. It's incredibly upsetting to know that a child had to witness such a violent act and then deal with the trauma of being directly involved. I hope he's receiving the support and care needed to heal, both physically and emotionally. For the community to be affected like this, I can't imagine how unsettling it must be. Seeing increased police activity in their neighborhood is a stark reminder that even the places we call home can sometimes feel unsafe. I'm wondering if residents are finding comfort in the added police presence, or if it just serves as a constant reminder of what happened. While justice for Marquette is crucial, let's also keep this young survivor in our thoughts. Hopefully, as more people come forward with information, both the family of Marquette and this young boy can find some sense of closure and peace.
