I’ve been following the tragic case of Anthony “Boogers” Gallegos Jr., and my heart goes out to his family and friends who are navigating these unfathomable times. One aspect that caught my attention is the role of firearm accessibility in this tragedy. It’s devastating to think that a young life was lost due to what seems like a preventable accident involving an improperly stored weapon. As discussions progress, I hope more attention is given to educating both parents and teens on gun safety and the importance of secure storage. Not just to prevent tragedies like this from occurring again, but to spark a wider conversation about responsible gun ownership, especially in households with children and teenagers. It's times like these that remind us of the changes we need to advocate for in our communities to ensure the safety of our young ones.
