Has anyone else been following the shocking events that unfolded on New Year's Day in Hartselle? It's just so tragic what happened to Steven Eric McCulloch. My thoughts are with his family and friends as they navigate this unbelievably difficult time. I was particularly struck by the fact deputies had been called due to a harassment complaint just a day before the shooting. It's devastating to think that there might have been signs leading up to the tragic incident that maybe went unnoticed or weren't addressed in time. I wonder if there was more that could have been done to de-escalate the situation. It puts into perspective how critical intervention can be in ongoing disputes. I hope we can learn something from this terrible loss to potentially prevent future tragedies.
