It's been haunting to think about how 2014 was such a violent year for Buffalo, and Demone Wiggins' case is a stark reminder of this tragic uptick in violence. What really stands out to me is the difficulty the police face with witnesses not coming forward. I understand there's fear and mistrust, but it's frustrating and sad that this complicates getting justice for Demone. It must be incredibly painful for his family to not have closure. I wonder how the community can come together to create an environment where more people feel safe to speak out. It's heartbreaking that this lack of cooperation leaves so many questions unanswered for those who lost loved ones that year. I hope more people find the courage to speak up so that peace and justice can eventually be served.
