I can't get over how the Simi Valley community must be feeling after such a terrible incident. I've been thinking a lot about the funeral that must have been held for Dr. Eric and Vicki Cordes. For decades, Dr. Cordes was a pillar of healthcare in the area and I can only imagine the impact he had on the lives of his patients and colleagues. And Vicki—her energy and dedication as a fitness instructor must have touched so many hearts. The loss of both of them at once is just unimaginable. I hope the ceremony honored their lives and legacy in a way that brought some small comfort to all who loved them. It’s encouraging to think that amidst the grief, there may have been stories shared and memories celebrated, highlighting their contributions and the joy they spread during their lives. Keeping their friends and family in my thoughts.
I've been following the details of the Cordes case, and something that's been sticking with me is the choice of escape route Keith took after committing this horrible crime. The decision to drive 70 miles away and then set his vehicle on fire seems so planned, yet it's baffling why he chose Ayala Park in Chino. It makes me wonder if he had any connections there or if it was just a random choice due to access or familiarity. It's chilling to think of the level of desperation or turmoil that drives someone to such lengths. My heart really goes out to everyone who loved Eric and Vicki; they didn't deserve this, and I hope they find some peace amid such a painful situation.
