I can't help but feel deeply saddened for Enrique "Ricky" Ramos Jr. and his family after learning about this devastating event. What really strikes me is how Ricky himself made the brave decision to call 911, seeking help during such a critical moment. It's gut-wrenching to think that despite taking such a crucial step, he couldn't receive the immediate support he desperately needed. It seems like his life was a constant battle, not just due to his service but also because of the system that was supposed to support him. I think it's so important that we don’t let Ricky’s story fade away. We need to shine a light on the flaws in the VA system and the mental health care options available to our veterans. Someone like Ricky, who dedicated so much to his country, should never have felt alone in his fight. Sending my thoughts to his family during this incredibly tough time.
