I can't wrap my head around what happened to Monica Brookins and John Wells in Powder Springs. It's incredibly distressing to think about how quickly life can change. They were just coming back from what should have been a joyous occasion, celebrating John's birthday, only to walk into such a horrifying situation. I keep thinking about Monica walking through that door first. Did she even realize what was happening in that split second before everything changed? This was supposed to be a day of love and celebration. It's painful to imagine the betrayal and shock she must have felt in that moment. And for John to follow her, only to face the same tragic fate—it’s all just so unimaginable. Neighbors described Monica and John as warm and kind, and it's clear they had a positive impact on their community. It’s hard to reconcile the loss people like this with the violence that took them away. My heart goes out to their friends and loved ones who are grappling with such a profound loss. I hope they find some comfort and support from each other during this difficult time.
