Gary's case has always puzzled me, especially considering how much the community rallied together in the aftermath. I remember the candlelight vigil held in his memory, and the sheer number of people who showed up to honor him and demand answers. It's a testament to the impact he had on those who knew him. It's incredibly frustrating that even with the increased attention on gun violence that year, there still seemed to be so many cases like Gary’s that took too long to solve, or remain unsolved. I really feel for his family and friends—they deserve closure. I've seen calls for community interventions, but I keep wondering if that alone is enough to prevent tragedies like this in the future. Stronger policing measures might be necessary, but how do we strike a balance that doesn’t further alienate communities already dealing with so much? It feels like such a complex issue, and I just hope for justice for Gary and others who were victims that year.
