I've been following the Lopez case since it was reported, and like many of you, I find myself grappling with so many questions. One aspect that keeps popping into my mind is the couple's dynamic. From everything reported and the neighbors' accounts, Debbie and Peter seemed like a regular, loving couple. It's so difficult to reconcile that image with the horrifying outcome of December 17th. I can't stop thinking about their son and what he must be going through right now. Losing parents is devastating enough, but in such a violent and unexpected manner? My heart really goes out to him and the rest of the family as they navigate these rough waters. Given Peter's enthusiasm for his work and hobbies, I wonder if there were any signs—perhaps changes in behavior or stressors—that might have gone unnoticed. It’s yet another sad reminder that we often see only facets of people's lives and that some struggles remain hidden until it's too late. I hope that by talking more openly about mental health and the pressures of daily life, we might prevent other tragedies like this from happening in the future.
